Indiana Hustling to Get Sports Betting Ready by Football

sports betting in Indiana

August 06th 2019

Up to 13 locations will be set to offer sports betting by the time the Colts take on the Chargers on September 8th. Unfortunately for sports betting fans that don’t feel like driving to one of those locations, mobile betting won’t be available until later in the year.

Sportsbooks are finishing up construction on their sports betting lounges at Indiana Casinos. The list of potential sportsbook locations are:

Ameristar
Belterra Casino
Blue Chip Casino
French Lick Resort Casino
Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg
Hoosier Park
Horseshoe Southern Indiana
Horseshoe Casino Hammond
Indiana Grand Casino
Majestic Star
Majestic Star II
Rising Star Casino Resort
Tropicana Evansville

Customers will probably drive from various areas of Indiana as well as surrounding states that don’t offer sports betting, such as Ohio, Michigan and Kentucky.

The regulations around the operators are as follows:

  1. Bettors must be 21 years old to bet
  2. Operators and vendors will pay a non-refundable $100,000 application fee with $50,000 annual renewals; sports betting providers will pay $10,000.
  3. Sports betting applicants must have a $500,000 cash reserve and partner with an integrity monitor provider who is required to report unusual activity.
